Module 06
Volcano
1 – Step closer to the volcano and wait a few seconds.
2 – What do you observe?
A volcanic eruption is usually characterized by the release of fluid material - lava - as well as gases, and often solid materials of various sizes.
There are three types of eruptions: explosive, effusive (where lava flows), and mixed.
Did you know...
Lava comes from magma that rises from deep within the Earth and moves through the crust. As it cools, the lava turns into volcanic rock. Look at the rocks near the volcano - notice how different they are!
