Earthquake

The ground is shaking beneath your feet, just like during an earthquake!

The shaking during an earthquake is caused by the passage of seismic waves. These waves are generated inside the Earth when a geological fault, which has been storing energy for years, suddenly shifts.

Earthquakes, like volcanoes, are a sign of our “living” planet. Most of them occur along the boundaries between tectonic plates.
